Some friends of mine found Tara and Maya in a public park in the first week of August 2026. Two indie pups, both female, both in bad shape. They have been fostered at my place since.
Tara is the one in front, with the black patches and the ears that are far too big for her head. She hears the gate before anyone else does and she will be at your feet before you have got your shoes off. She also likes to sleep on your lap. Maya is the grey one sitting behind her, and she is the naughtier of the two — always watching what I am up to, and ready to eat the moment I open the fridge or walk into the kitchen.
They eat together, always end up sleeping on top of each other, and both lose their minds if the other one is out of sight for more than a minute. They are inseparable.

How they are doing
They were weak when they were found. Most of their vitals were low and unstable, though somehow they were still active through all of it, which I think is the only reason they made it. They are about a month old now and the last few weeks have been a steady climb — weekly tests, and every report better than the one before it. Happy to share all of it.
Deworming is done, with one more cycle pending. Vaccinations have not started yet because they are still too young and were too weak to take it. If they go to a new home before that is done, I will cover their medical expenses for the next two months.
If you have read this far, you are probably the person I am hoping finds this page.
